Objectives: Reduce risk to employees and others, improve an existing occupational health and safety management system, demonstrate concern for the health and safety of personnel, or increase safety in relation to risk management.
Introduction to the ISO 19011:2018 management systems auditing standard. Target audience: The course is aimed at those with knowledge of OHSAS 18001:2007, who are keen to understand the benefits and implications of the new standard, the migration timeline to ISO 45001:2018 and any significant differences between the old and new standard, as well as those who wish to implement an occupational health and safety management system in accordance with ISO 45001:2018.

Day 1 & Day 2 • Occupational health and safety management system and its integration with other management systems • Objectives of the new ISO 45001:2018 standard • Structure of ISO 45001:2018, based on the PDCA cycle • New terminology: risk-based approach, organizational context, stakeholders, hierarchy of controls, change management, outsourced services, supplier and contractor control • Risk management in the context of ISO 45001:2018 standard • Requirements of ISO 45001:2018 standard.
Day 3 • Introduction to ISO 19011:2018 • The role of auditing in a quality management system • Basics • Auditing principles • Audit program • Audit activities • Audit program management • Audit activities • Case studies • Auditor competence and assessment • Selecting the right method for auditor assessment • Auditor assessment • Maintaining and improving auditor competence • Examination
Note: Case studies, examples, exercises and group activities will be presented throughout the course.
Lecturer: Over 10 years of experience in industry and over 20 years as an external auditor of quality, environmental and occupational health and safety management systems.
