Requirements of the CQI-27 standard

Objectives: By the end of the course, participants will understand the CQI-27 requirements regarding the casting system assessment, the role of special casting processes in the automotive industry, requirements for casting process management, critical parameter control, personnel qualification, and the execution of self-assessments in accordance with AIAG requirements. Participants will be able to interpret and apply CQI-27 requirements within their organization and understand how to prepare for internal audits.

• Introduction to special casting processes and AIAG requirements
• Overview of the CQI-27 Casting System Assessment (CSA): purpose, structure, and scope
• Relationship between CQI-27, IATF 16949, customer-specific requirements, and Core Tools
• CQI-27 requirements for casting process management:
• responsibilities and competencies, process documentation, change management, risk analysis, and continuous improvement;
• CQI-27 requirements for process control:
• control of raw materials and material composition, management of furnaces and casting equipment, control of melting and casting processes, monitoring of critical process parameters, product control, traceability, and process validation;
• Management of non-conformities, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions
• The CQI-27 audit:
• management system assessment, casting process assessment, compliance and non-compliance criteria, audit preparation and execution;
• Completing and interpreting CQI-27 self-assessment forms
• Identifying gaps and developing action plans for CQI-27 compliance
• Practical examples, case studies, and lessons learned from CQI audits
• Q&A, examination, and course conclusion
