CQI-23 – Molding System Assessment

Objectives: By the end of the course, participants will understand the CQI-23 requirements regarding the assessment of plastic injection molding systems, the role of special molding processes in the automotive industry, and the requirements for process management, critical parameter control, personnel qualification, and conducting self-assessments in accordance with AIAG standards. Participants will be able to interpret and apply CQI-23 requirements within their organization and understand how to prepare for internal audits.

Target Audience: Production managers, process engineers, quality engineers, special process managers, plastic injection technologists, maintenance specialists, internal auditors, and personnel involved in the management and control of molding processes.

• Introduction to special molding processes and AIAG requirements
• Overview of the CQI-23 Molding System Assessment (MSA): purpose, structure, and scope
• Relationship between CQI-23, IATF 16949, customer-specific requirements, and Core Tools
• CQI-23 requirements for molding process management:
• responsibilities and competencies, process documentation, change management, risk analysis, and continuous improvement;
• CQI-23 requirements for process control:
• personnel qualification and training, control of raw materials and recycled materials, mold and equipment management, injection process parameters and their monitoring, product control, traceability, and process validation;
• Non-conformity management, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions
• The CQI-23 audit:
• management system assessment, molding process assessment, compliance and non-compliance criteria, audit preparation and execution; Completing and interpreting CQI-23 self-assessment forms
• Identifying gaps and developing action plans for CQI-23 compliance
• Practical examples, case studies, and lessons learned from CQI audits
